  • In this workshop we migrate a website from on-page Google Analytics tracking to Google Tag Manager
  • Along the way you'll learn best practices for tag management, as well as how to manage your tag setups in the leanest and most effective way
  • We'll go over JavaScript concepts such as the dataLayer Array and the Document Object Model, but each will be inspected in the context of the tool in order to make the lessons as relevant as possible
  • We'll take a look at Auto-Event Tracking and some of the awesome, magical things you can do with Google Tag Manager
  • We will leverage the powerful out-of-the-box features of Google Tag Manager, and we'll look at some customization opportunities as well

You will learn the Hows, Whats and Whys of Google Tag Manager, and if you're not a convert yet, you'll surely learn to appreciate its power and flexibility in managing the tags you deploy on your website. The lessons are designed to be scalable, so even though the migration is done on a very small website, the action points learned during the class can be transferred to larger-scale websites and tag setups as well.

What do I need for attending?

The class is for skill levels beginner through advanced, though previous experience with Google Analytics is definitely a huge plus. A basic knowledge of how the web browser works (JavaScript, DOM, HTML) is recommended.
